Housing Stocks Set to Double

The news that housing stocks rose 20 percent in April serves as just the latest evidence that housing is set to roar back in a big way, according to Fundstrat Global Advisors’ Tom Lee. But the real key to the rally will be young people buying homes. Lee notes that household formation numbers compiled by the U.S. Census have recently started to break out. Brentwood ranked top city for home ownership statewide

BRENTWOOD — Brentwood was recently deemed the top city for homeownership in California by a financial adviser website called Nerd Wallet, but its lure for prospective homebuyers is no surprise to many current residents. Nerd Wallet used three main criteria to rank the top 20 cities statewide in this real estate category. They were affordability, available housing stock and population growth. “These are very good indicators of a healthy town. We try to provide an objective analysis to homeownership,” said Nerd Wallet content analyst Kamran Rosen. Last week, Nerd Wallet announced the top cities and Brentwood was named No. 1.
